Michael works with a variety of charities and causes, but his focus is in 3 Vital Areas:
The Arts |
The Environment |
The Impoverished |
Through The Gulf Coast Writers, River Readings, Sacred Story Institute, The Tupelo Theater, and aMUSEment, I work in and encourage, educate, and support the arts. I provide workshops, classes, conferences, publications, presentations, exhibits, plays, etc., as well as conduct Drama and Film Camps for kids. |
Through The Mother Earth Fund, (which is named after a character from my novel, DOUBLE EXPOSURE) we fight against the fragmentation of and over encroachment in the increasingly fragile ecosystem, provide environmental education, publish eco-empowering literature, take children on nature encounters, conduct environmental film festivals, and support good stewardship of the earth through alliances with other private and government agencies. And along with my publisher Pulpwood Press, I plant a tree for every book I sell. |
Through The Direct Effect Project we help people in need by providing food, assistance, teaching life skills classes, operate support groups, empower through education, and work for social justice.
